HELLO, MY NAME IS KWANIIE

I am a print and web designer, photographer and health enthusiast located in New York City. I am currently a 3rd-year Communication Design major student with concentration in Web Design. My interest for the arts began in elementary school where I was a part of the school band for piano and the flute until the 12th grade. I joined Xanga in middle school, a webblog and journaling platform that was still trending at the time, and that was when my web design journey began.

Looking back, I am grateful for being a 90's baby. I spent a large amount of time on the computer since the 4th grade, especially on Xanga. It was my outlet then and now Tumblr is the alternative. I was intrigued at how people had different layouts for their Xanga blog and I wanted mine to be unique as well. As I learned more about HTML and CSS from the customizable Xange templates, I was able to design my own backgrounds and theme layouts. I soon realized how happy and accomplished I felt with the result of final products and craved for more. Immediately, this striked the interest of the rest of the Adobe Creative Cloud programs. I learned Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver throughout highschool during my freetime. I also taught myself how to use FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and began freelancing as a print and web designer for non-profit organizations in 2010.

I am passionate about web design, HTML/CSS, DIY, calligraphy, beautifying things and learning.

When I'm not designing or working, you'll find me taking night portraits, at the gym or learning about health and dentistry.
